Baby Food: Peach, Apple, Pear Puree

Baby Food Peach Apple & Pear Puree

The combination of peaches, apples, and pears in this puree make it nice and sweet with no added sugar.  Your baby will be sure to love the sweet taste and smooth texture.  My own toddlers gobbled this “applesauce” up even though they are used to a little sugar added to their applesauce.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/3 cup peaches, peeled, pitted and diced
  • 1 cup Gala apples, peeled, cored and diced
  • 1 cup pears, peeled, cored and diced
  • 2 tablespoons water

Directions:

Place diced peaches, apples and pears in a medium saucepan with the water.  Bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer until all the fruit is soft, about 10 minutes.  For a coarser texture mash with a potato masher, or transfer to a blender or food processor and process until smooth.

Freezing Directions:

Transfer mixture to a nonfreezer gallon bag. Cut a small hole in the bottom corner of the bag and use it to pour/squeeze the purees into ice cube trays. DO NOT OVERFILL.  Only fill each cube up to the sides and not overflowing the sides. Cover each tray with aluminum foil and label.  Freeze for at least 24 hours before transferring to quart or gallon freezer bags for long-term storage.

Servings: 18 cubes

Hi ladies! I appreciate this new baby food recipe as I make all the food for my little girl. If I can just throw in one little tip: do not use foil. It can get in the baby’s food, which would be no bueno if baby ate it. Cover with clear wrap and then once frozen you can remove the cubes and put in a gallon size bag to store. Thanks again ladies :)

Just a little change that I do sometimes is to put the fruit or vegetables on a cookie sheet and roast them until fork tender. When pureeing you can add water if it needs it. It intensifies the flavor and gives it a bit of that roasted caramel flavor.
