Chilled Spaghetti Salad (Plus Coupons!) #WeeknightMeals
I was recently contacted to get a sneak peek at a new website called Give Every Night New Flavor. It’s a place to find an easy dinner recipe with only 3 quick clicks on the right side of the page:
- Cuisine (are you in the mood for Italian? Asian? American?)
- Time (how much time do you have to make the meal?)
- Servings (how many people will you be feeding?)
Check out the options and choose your favorite.
Then, you can simply click “add to shopping list” to create and either print or email your shopping list for the meal.
Finally, do you notice the coupons listed? This is the brilliant part! Coupons for the ConAgra items listed in your recipe are listed to the right of the screen. Just load them onto your Kroger Card and go shopping!
I put http://www.giveeverynightnewflavor.com to the test and it pulled up this Chilled Spaghetti Salad. Of course I had to change things just a tad to lower the calories and other nutritional information. (Using regular noodles would probably make it taste a bit better but the whole wheat version is almost as good…and it’s much better for us!) And, we definitely want freezer friendly foods here so the instructions have been adapted slightly.

Chilled Spaghetti Salad

- 2 can (14.5 oz each) Hunt’s® Fire Roasted Diced Tomatoes, drained
- 2 cups Low-fat Zesty Italian Dressing
- 1 box (16 ounces) Whole Wheat, Whole Grain Spaghetti Noodles
- 1 can (4.25 oz each) chopped ripe olives
Cook pasta according to directions. Drain. Rinse with cold water. Add tomatoes and olives olives; mix lightly. (If you won’t be freezing the meal, add dressing and mix lightly. Refrigerate 2 hours or until chilled. Toss before serving.)
Portion dressing into pint size plastic bags. Put one bag of dressing along with one serving of Chilled Spaghetti Salad into quart size freezer bag. Lay flat to freeze. To Serve: Defrost in refrigerator overnight. Place Chilled Spaghetti Salad into a bowl, pour dressing on it, and mix thoroughly.
