Creamy Chicken Pockets

How cute are these little chicken pockets? They are refrigerated crescent roll dough filled with a delicious mixture of chicken, cream cheese and garlic, then topped off with butter and breadcrumbs. These pockets are ready for either the dinner table or the freezer in no time flat, and are a definite kid-pleaser!

Creamy Chicken Pockets

  • 2.67 cups boneless chicken breast, cooked and shredded
  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • 0.5 cups onion, finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
  • 1 Tablespoons light butter, softened
  • 3 ounces light cream cheese, softened
  • 0.25 teaspoons seasoning salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons salt
  • 2 Tablespoons skim milk
  • 0.25 teaspoons pepper
  • 8 ounces reduced fat refrigerated crescent rolls


  • 1 Tablespoons light butter, melted
  • 0.25 cups Italian seasoned bread crumbs


In a large skillet over medium heat, cook onions and garlic in olive oil, until onions are translucent. In a medium bowl, mix together cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add in chicken, onions and garlic, Stir in salt, pepper seasoning salt and milk. Mix well. Separate crescent roll dough into triangles. place a Tablespoon of filling in the center of each triangle. Fold up corners to seal the pockets. Press and seal firmly. Place pockets on ungreased cookie sheet. Melt butter for topping, brush on top of pockets and sprinkle with bread crumbs. Bake at 375 for 11-13 minutes, or until golden brown.

Freezing Directions:

Prepare as directed above. Allow pockets to cool and place in freezer bag, label and freeze. TO SERVE: Thaw. Reheat in oven at 350 for 10 minutes.

    These are delish – my kids love them.
    Maybe it’s just me, but I ended up using 3 containers of crescent rolls with the ingredients listed above. I also add Parmesan cheese to the bread crumbs and sprinkle.

    Using about a tablespoon of filling per triangle as directed, I needed 2 containers of crescent rolls. The packets look delicious!
