Eggnog Scones

  • 5 Tablespoons eggnog #1
  • 1 Tablespoon powdered sugar
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.75 cups eggnog #2
  • 3 Tablespoons brown sugar
  • 4 Tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 0.25 teaspoon nutmeg


In a small bowl, combine eggnog #1 and powdered sugar to make glaze. Set aside. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and baking powder. In another large mixing bowl, combine eggnog, brown sugar, butter, vanilla, and nutmeg. Mix wet and dry ingredients together. Form dough into a large disk. Cut disk into 8 sections and place on a greased baking sheet. Bake at 375 for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool. Use a spoon to drizzle eggnog glaze over scones. 

Freezing Directions:

Prepare and bake as directed above.  Remove from oven and allow to cool. Use a spoon to drizzle eggnog glaze over scones. Flash freeze. Divide among indicated number of gallon freezer bags, label, and freeze. TO SERVE: Thaw. Microwave for 1-2 minutes, until warm.

Servings:  8 scones

    I may be chef dad at my house, but baking isn’t my strong suit. These were so easy scones may be my new baking stand by.

    Directions call for baking POWDER.
    Which is it supposed to be?
