Cherry Almond Granola

  • 0.33 cups frozen cherries, thawed and pureed
  • 0.25 cups agave nectar
  • 0.5 teaspoons molasses
  • 1 teaspoons vanilla extract (ensure GF)
  • 1 teaspoons almond extract
  • 1 Tablespoons coconut milk
  • 2 cups old fashioned oats (ensure GF)
  • 0.5 cups ground flax seed
  • 0.25 cups coconut shreds
  • 0.5 cups almonds, slivered
  • 0.5 cups dried cherries, chopped
  • 0.25 cups golden raisins


In a small bowl, combine cherry puree, agave nectar, molasses, vanilla extract, almond extract and coconut milk. Set aside. In a large bowl, combine old fashioned oats, ground flax, and coconut flakes.  Gently pour small bowl of cherry puree ingredients over the oats mixture, and fold until well combined. Spread granola over a parchment paper lined rimmed baking sheet. Bake 325F for 20 minutes. Remove and mix in almonds. Return to oven and bake an additional 15 minutes. Remove from oven and immediately stir in the dried cherries and golden raisins. Allow to cool completely.

Freezing Directions:

Prepare as directed above. When cool, portion into quart freezer bags, label and freeze. TO SERVE: Thaw. Serve at room temperature or warmed slightly if desired.

    Is there a swappable alternative to Agave nectar? like sugar or brown sugar or the like? it’s not something I’m able to easily have on hand where i am. Thanks!

    Hi Lisa, I’m making this right now. For the cherry puree, do you start with 1/3 cup cherries and then puree them or should you end up with a 1/3 cup puree? Thanks!
