Gluten Free Dairy Free Juicy Apple Turkey Burgers

 

Imagine if you could take all the delicious flavors of Thanksgiving and wrap it all in one delicious burger.  That is exactly what comes to mind with this recipe, the family all sitting around enjoying a meal together, but this time it is juicy burger.  Give it a try and see if this becomes your next family tradition.

Gluten Free Dairy Free Juicy Apple Turkey Burgers

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup apple, peeled & finely grated
  • 1/3 cup brown rice, cooked
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoons yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground sage
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 20 ounces ground turkey

Directions:

Combine all ingredients and mix well.  Shape into 1/2 inch thick patties.  Grill, covered, over indirect medium heat,  these can also be broiled 6″ from heat, for 6-7 minutes on each side or until a meat thermometer reads 165 degrees F.  Serve on a gluten free bun or wrapped in lettuce.

Freezing Directions:

Combine all ingredients and mix well.  Shape into 1/2 inch thick patties.  Place burgers into freezer bag(s) separated with wax paper.   Remove as much air as possible, seal, label & freeze.  TO SERVE:  Thaw.  Grill, covered, over indirect medium heat or broil 6″ from the heat for 6-7 minutes on each side or until a meat thermometer reads 165 degrees F.  Serve on a gluten free bun or wrapped in lettuce.
