Grilled Apple & Cheese Sandwiches

Ingredients:

  • 4 slices light sandwich bread
  • 1 cups apple, granny smith, sliced
  • 2 slices sliced cheddar cheese, low fat
  • 2 Tablespoons dijon mustard

Directions:

Form 2 sandwiches out of bread, apple slices, cheese, and mustard. Spray nonstick skillet with cooking spray. Cook sandwiches until cheese is melted and bread is golden brown, about 5 minutes on each side.

Freezing Directions:

Prepare sandwiches per above directions. Allow to cool. Wrap individually in plastic wrap, then divide among gallon freezer bags. Label and freeze. TO SERVE: Thaw. Reheat in oven at 300 for 8-10 minutes, until warmed through.

    I was just wondering on a lot of the recipes what method of thawing would you recommend?

      Hi Sarah! We recommend that you thaw just in your fridge. I typically go to my freezer on Sunday afternoon, pull out all my meals for the week and just take up a shelf in the fridge. If I’m cooking something on Monday I may put it to another spot so it will thaw quicker.
