Ham & Mozzarella Stromboli

Stromboli, how I love you. Let me count the ways.  The simplicity of this recipe is what makes it so perfect in my opinion.  I pulled the ingredients from the fridge and had lunch on the table in less than 20 minutes.  It’s pretty hard to top that.  Of course, there are all kinds of ways to jazz it up from adding pizza sauce to using different flavors such as ham and pineapple or pepperoni and olive.  Just top the pizza crust with your favorite pizza or sandwich ingredients, wrap it up, and throw it in the oven!

Ham & Mozzarella Stromboli

  • 14 ounces refrigerated pizza dough
  • 0.75 cups deli ham
  • 1 cups shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • 0.5 cups fresh basil, chopped


Preheat oven to 425.  Roll out pizza crust.  Layer ham, cheese, and basil down center of pizza crust.  Fold edges of dough over the top of ingredients.  Place onto a baking sheet, seam side down.  Bake for 14-16 minutes, until golden brown.  Slice into 3 inch slices and serve.

Freezing Directions:

Follow directions above to assemble and bake.  After baking, remove from oven and allow to cool.  Slice into 3 inch slices and then wrap individually in plastic wrap.  Place into a gallon freezer bag, label, and freeze.  To serve: Reheat in microwave for 1 minute.

    This recipe was great! It was a hit with my two children and voted “okay” by dear husband. I had to change the recipe, since my family has decided they don’t like basil (what the?) so I used oregano, some onion powder, some garlic powder. It was SOOOOOO easy! Thanks bunches!
