Hands-Off Kitchen Floor Clean-Up with Mint (Things I Love Thursday)

Okay, this little beauty came JUST. IN. TIME. I have more to tell you tomorrow about the whole “we are moving” dealio. But this machine? This machine is like an angel from heaven come to help me keep my sanity through the house showing phase.

You do remember that I have two children under the age of two right? And you know what floors look like after EVERY meal right? Ridiculous. My kids are fairly neat eaters and I still battle the floor on a regular basis. It is my arch enemy.

Enter the Mint! This little gem cleans why you sit and nurse your tired blistered once a month cooking feet at the end of a long day. Can you even imagine? You have just finished 10 hours of cooking and you are tired and worn. The dishes are done and put away BUT your floor! It still has spaghetti sauce and pancake batter and bread crumbs strewn about. And instead of dragging out the mop you head for your Mint! You turn it on and away it goes while you sit and relax, it cleans your kitchen floor for you! Now THAT sounds like heaven to me.

How amazing is that? You HAVE to at least put this little gem on your Christmas wish list. I promise you will not be disappointed.

Now don’t be disillusioned, it doesn’t scrub on hands and knees. But it does get a great clean with no fuss (or muscle). I was really impressed with the navigational technology and how precise it was in our kitchen. My new “keep the house in show condition” plan is to run this each day in the kitchen while the kids are napping. That tells you it is also quiet. I have a feeling that this is going to save me A LOT of hassle for the next few months.

In case you don’t believe my words I thought you should see how it works and what my kids thought of it. I laugh because Isaac is terrified of vacuum cleaners. Well, he is also terrified of things that move in unexpected ways (yes, he is a bit of a wuss). So I was interested in his reaction specifically:

To me the machine reminds me of an Apple product. It looks like our Apple TV on wheels if you ask my opinion. But the good news behind that is that it is small and doesn’t take up a lot of storage space. Something that is of utmost value when you are downsizing to show your house. You should also note that it sweeps hard surfaces as well. Woot! Woot!

So what do you think? Will this make your Christmas list? Are you going to track me down and steal mine? I sssoooooo wish I had one to give away to you but I don’t. And as for mine, you are going to have to pry it out of my hands if you even want to see it! :)

Wow, it’s nice to hear this thing actually works! My kids keep seeing the commercial for it on tv and are trying to convince me that I need one. (not that I need any convincing that my floors need to be cleaner…)

That is awesome!! I’m SO jealous!! I saw a commercial for this and would LOVE one for our house (3 kids, 5 & under, so I DO know what your floors look like after meals!) ENJOY it!!

Wow! I so wish I had one of those when we had all hard surface floors and hardwood. Now we moved to an apartment and it has carpet which I loathe. Awful to keep clean!

I have a Roomba and absolutely love it, so I am sure I would love this!

  7. Tami says:

Would LOVE one of these! I hate cleaning the kitchen floor, yet I love having a clean house, so this seems perfect!

Oopsie, missed the part about you saying you didn’t have one to giveaway – ignore that last post please!

Robotic vacuums are really cool and they can save cleaning time, but they don’t do all the work all the time. Pet hair is always a problem with the little robots. There are some really good Eureka vacuum cleaners made especially for pet hair if that is a problem in your home!

We love our Roomba! Since we have almost all tile floors, I think we are going to have a Scooba (the mopping version of a Roomba) on our Christmas list this year. That way we can run the Roomba to get up the fur and then the Scooba to clean up the mud and crumbs.

We don’t even have any kids, but the dogs and cats were shedding so much that I was sweeping every day before we dragged the Roomba out of storage.
