It’s the Circus, It’s the Circus! (Giveaway)

CLOSED for comments! The winner is Brian S (random.org came up with number 1). Congratulations!

No, I am not referring to my household. Although, that would be very close to the truth. I am talking about the fact that the Barnum & Bailey Circus is coming to town (Dayton & Cincinnati, Ohio). I am SO excited!

Why am I so excited? You might think that it is because I have a 17 month old and I am looking forward to seeing the wonder of the circus and the animals through his eyes. Whereas that is the truth, the real reason I am so excited is that I have never ever been to the circus before! Seriously! How am I 33 years old and never been to the circus?

I was so excited when the great folks a Mom Central contacted me to ask me if I would be interested in taking my family to the circus and to give away a set of tickets on my site! What a dream come true for me. Going to the circus is literally one of my “want to do before I die” list of adventures and excursions. How funny that my cooking blog is making that dream a reality.

Here are the details of the shows near us:

Favorite part about going to the circus? It used to be the tiger act. Now it’s anything that captures my young ones’ hearts.

  2. Beth says:

I’d say my favorite part of the circus is the clowns. While I know MANY who are afraid, I always loved their silly antics!

On a separate note, I don’t think I’ve been to the Ringling Brothers/ Barnum and Bailey Circus since I was 5 (although I’ve been to other circuses). That time, I got briefly separate from my parents and they still tell that as the “time we lost Beth” story. Hopefully, if we win, I won’t reinact this story with my little one!

I’m a fan of the Ringling Brothers/Barnum and Bailey Circus on FB.

    I subscribe.

I just became a fan of the Ringling Brothers Cincinnati FB page.

I really hate to say this to you, love your site and hope you don’t ban me forever :( But Ringling Bros beats the animals, you should google it, and you shouldn’t go to the circus or promote them. Nothing fun about tortured animals that only do tricks because they’ve been beaten into submission. :(

  8. My Mom swears she took me and my cousin (same age as me) to the circus when we were little. We both swear (my cousin and me) that we’ve never been. So, if she did take us, it was a missed Kodak event! :~) I’ve never been to Ringley’s Circus – we did take my youngest to the other circus in town about 4 years ago and it was so cool. Would love to see the much grander event of this circus.
