Kid Approved Meatballs

Meatballs are such a versatile kid food.  Whether served with pasta and sauce, or dipped into their favorite condiment, these easy prep meatballs will be your go to frozen meat option.

Kid Approved Meatballs

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 cup quick cooking oat
  • 0.5 teaspoons cumin
  • 0.5 teaspoons thyme
  • 2 teaspoons dried mustard
  • 2 teaspoons pepper
  • 1 teaspoons salt
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 0.75 small onion, diced
  • 2 stalks celery, diced

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375F.  in a large bowl, combine all ingredients.  (Using a stand mixer works well for this process also).   Roll the mixture into Tablespoon sized balls and place on parchment paper lined baking sheet. Bake 15-20 minutes or until cooked through.  Serve atop pasta with your favorite sauce, or with your favorite vegetable side. 

Freezing Directions:

Follow directions above.  Cool completely.  Flash Freeze.  When frozen place in a gallon sized freezer storage bag.  Label and freeze.  TO SERVE: remove desired number of meatballs from freezer and microwave to reheat. 

Servings: 48 meatballs
