Menu C – Kisti

Don’t forget to vote in the right side margin DAILY between February 19th and 26th for your favorite of the menus – A, B, or C!

Description of Menu:

My inspiration for this menu was choosing items that were healthy, yet fun, easy, yet sophisticated, reasonably priced, yet tasty.  I tried to choose some health conscious alternatives, but still making the menu appealing to a variety of palates.  The sale and seasonal items I’ve tried to incorporate are ham, eggs, Ice cream, frozen veggies, frozen fruits, Artichokes, and the celebration of National Peanut Month. I’ve tried to search a variety of recipe sources as well. Hope you enjoy!

Menu Recipes:

  • Cherry-Chip Ice Cream Muffins (Dole Frozen Fruit) – Basic ice cream muffin recipe with dark cherries and chocolate chips added. (2-19 there is a problem with the website, not with the link. Hopefully it will get fixed soon.)
  • Tasty Breakfast Burritos – Made without gravy
  • Cinnamon Rolls – Basic bread recipe made into cinnamon rolls with icing.

About Kisti:

I’m a stay at home mom of 2 precious littles; Maren is 3 ½ years old and Silas is 4 months old.  I enjoy baking, cooking, organizing, and finding ways to make difficult tasks easier.  The Lord has blessed me with more than I could have asked for.

Tricia, just FYI, a few of the recipe links above are broken.

    • tricia says:

Not sure what is up with that because they were working last night when I checked them. Ugh.

      • John says:

All the links work for me except the pineapple chicken. The link is actually correct, but it is posted twice (copy/paste/paste error?). You can delete the repeated part of the link to get to the address (until admin has a chance to fix the link). Kisti’s blog link is also not working, but it’s the same type of error. Just delete the part of the address before the www to get the link to work.

I’m sorry. I had to comment on this menu. I was SHOCKED to see that there were porcupines on here. SHOCKED!!

I grew up on porcupines and most people look at me like I’m mad when I mention them.

That is funny. I am assuming you are meaning the recipe and not the animal? Looking at the recipe it is not made with porcupine meat? Are you telling me this is something that your family dines on? If so, I would love to hear more about it, very interesting.

This is cracking me up:) I can’t wait to hear Andrea’s answer! I grew up eating “Porcupine’s”, too…but of the beef or turkey variety! :)

I can see Kisti’s menu but I am having a hard time finding the other 2 menus. Maybe I’m just not looking in the right places.

I’ve got to try the Steakhouse Shepherd’s Pie. My men would love it! Good luck, my dear…
