  1. Looks yummy…we love pumpkin. I wonder if you could reduce the sugar or perhaps replace some of it with maple syrup and get a good result still.

    1. Stacey, I bet you could. I’m considering making them without the brown sugar at all, since the honey and applesauce also provide sweetness.

  2. I’m brewing up some homemade applesauce this weekend in my crockpot so I will definitely be using some of it for these bars. I love your recipes. Jimmie you are my favorite once a month mom!

    1. Kimberly, I’d use a 9×13 to double it. The bars might be a little thicker, but I think that’s probably your best bet. Hope you enjoy them!

    1. Hi Tina, they do not need to be refrigerated. As long as they are wrapped tightly and protected from air, the granola bars should be good at room-temperature for 7-10 days. Hope you enjoy them!

  3. These are wonderful. I made a double batch of them last week, we ate them in about four days. Getting ready to make another double batch this afternoon. May have to put these in the freezer so they last a little longer 🙂

  6. I made these tonight and they taste wonderful! My only question is, should they feel thick and heavy? I used an 8×8 pan and cut them into 12 bars. I am wondering if I should use my bar pan next time to make them thinner. I also used chocolate chips because I was out of dried cranberries. I only used half a cup, and the taste is amazing!

  7. Very good! I used raisins instead of cranberries because that was all I had. Our family would prefer them with less dried fruit, but they are still very tasty and definitely a repeat recipe! 🙂

  8. These sound delicious! Quick question, do they come out crunchy or chewy? I prefer the slightly softer bars so wondered if I should cut back the baking time.
