What are Mini Menus? Mini menus are a fraction of the meals you would see on a normal menu and can be completed quickly and efficiently in a few short hours, in the evenings when you are preparing the meal for dinner or during small bursts of times like naps. Mini meal plans are designed for the busy family who wants freezer meals in their freezer but doesn’t have time to do a full months worth of meals. If you are new and not sure how to get started we have a wonderful series starting with 5 easy steps to get you on your way to once a month cooking. Good luck! If you like (or don’t like) this menu you might want to check out all our past mini menus!

Document Update

As you can see we have a NEW way of getting and printing your monthly menu documents. As part of that change, we have also changed the type/size of labels we use. The above labels will print four to a page and line up with Avery 8168/5168 labels or equivalent.

Test Cooks

Each month we have some wonderful volunteers who “test” out the menu prior to publication. They do an amazing job of helping to eliminate confusion and mistakes. They may not catch everything but they sure do catch A LOT! If you are interested in test cook, feel free to volunteer. Here is a little bit about this month’s test cooks:

  • Christy Lee-  lives in Jacksonville, FL. She learned how to cook from her Mom, her Grandmother and Great Grandmother. When she was growing up she always cooked for an army, and food savers were called seal a meals (and still calls it that). She loves to cook new things and her motto is “in omnia paratus” this means ready for all things. Which is what freezer cooking is right? ;)
  • Shanna Freeman- is a  work-from-home mom  with  a very active preschooler.  Her husband  works long hours and she does most of her work in the evenings after her daughter goes to bed, so by the end of the day she is happy to be able to get dinner ready in a hurry.  Finding recipes that all of her family likes can be a challenge, and she has been so pleased  with the variety of offerings at Once a Month Meals!
  •  Amanda Taylor- Originally from Texas, she lives in sunny Southern California with her husband and two kids, 3 and 1.5.  Formerly a high school nutrition teacher, she loves that she can provide them homemade meals, under budget and stress free.  Her kids love the variety that once a month cooking provides.

Get Started

Are you new to Once A Month Mom or once a month cooking (oamc) in general? If so, you might want to spend a few minutes (or hours) on the Get Started Series. If you are in a real hurry to catch on we have written some simple steps for getting started. Welcome!

Is there any way to get my entire shopping list directly on my Ziplist?
I love the idea of everything, ingredients and quantities digitally!

The Canadian bacon and potato chowder has Canadian bacon listed twice in the ingredients. Is this right?

    • Kelly says:

You are correct Sue, that was a duplicate entry. I have corrected it in the system now and it should not show up as duplicate now.

I have not seen a response to my question so on the chance it did not go through am sending again. There are 2 amounts listed for Canadian bacon on the soup. Is this correct?

    • Kelly says:

Yes sorry our comments are moderated for approval, they do not show up immediately. It was a duplicate entry. I have corrected it in the system now and it should not show up as duplicate now.
