Document Update

As you can see we have a NEW way of getting and printing your monthly menu documents. As part of that change, we have also changed the type/size of labels we use. The above labels will print four to a page and line up with Avery 8168/5168 labels or equivalent.

Test Cooks

Each month we have some wonderful volunteers who “test” out the menu prior to publication. They do an amazing job of helping to eliminate confusion and mistakes. They may not catch everything but they sure do catch A LOT! If you are interested in test cook, feel free to volunteer. Here is a little bit about this month’s test cooks:

  • Danielle Lancellotti - Danielle is a new mother currently living near Boulder, Colorado with her husband and son. She enjoys reading, cooking vegetarian meals, playing board games, and cuddling with her cats.

    This would be my first menu, if I want to try it out and not have two of each recipe for the month, can I cut the servings in half and yield essentially only one meal of that recipe for the month? Does my question make sense? Does it complicate any of the lists? Thank you, I am looking forward to using Once a Month Meals :)

      Hi Jennifer! It does make sense and you certainly can do that. However, the reason why you double recipe when freezer cooking is you get more bang for your time. It takes just a few extra minutes to have two meals this way instead of one. If you want to start smaller, I personally would recommend starting with a mini menu or just deleting a few recipes off the menu. But to answer your question, it doesn’t complicate anything in the system if you do it that way. You just may have to remember to not “divide between freezer bags” if you only are making one bag worth. Good luck and let us know how it goes!
