Test Cooks

Each month we have some wonderful volunteers who “test” out the menu prior to publication. They do an amazing job of helping to eliminate confusion and mistakes. They may not catch everything but they sure do catch A LOT! If you are interested in test cook, feel free to volunteer. Here is a little bit about this month’s test cooks:

  • Melissa Wax- I live in Seattle, WA. I am a stay at home Mom with a 4 and 5 year old who attend a preschool co-op that I currently reside over as board chair. Thanks, the lasagne soup is in our slow cooker now as I type, headed this way for dinner tonight! We had only a small can of tomato paste but the equivalent of a 28oz can and a half of chopped tomatoes so I put that in instead with less added water. The recipe is very flexible. I am def going to try the slow cooker roasted winter veg too, we love roasted veg. Cheers!

Katharine, don’t you love flexible slow cooker recipes? I do that all the time; not enough corn, throw in some extra carrots. :) Can’t wait to hear how it turns out!

Dear Katie, it turned out so well, my toddlers wanted the leftovers a second night in a row. That only happens once every blue moon. It’s amazing how good this throw ‘n’ go recipe is! This is part of the permanent rotation :)
