  1. We’re gluten-free and pretty neW to the scene :). Could we successfully replace the wheat germ with ground flax? This would be GREAT – I hope that the sub would work. My kids (and maybe Mommy 🙂 would love these!

    1. I’ve never used ground flax before, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. You basically need something to provide some stability so the balls will hold together.

  2. i make something super similar to these ALL THE TIME! but i add a lot to them… chia seeds, oats, dried fruit, nuts and seeds… and some coconut oil too! i also most often make them into bars instead of balls… DELISH snack or breakfast!

    1. Nicole, I am trying to look for a good recipe for an energy ball with coconut oil in them but am having little luck. I just saw your comment and was hoping you would share it? Thank you in advance!

      1. I don’t want to come off as too spam-ish, but as for a nutritious energy ball with coconut oil, you may want to try out http://www.coconutzfuel.com.As a nutrition-conscious athlete (and father), I decided to apply that knowledge to develop an energy ball that is delicious, good for you, and gluten free. Though designed for athlete use, I’ve found moms love to provide them as snacks to kids because they are so good and healthy. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.Best,Casey

  3. These taste great, I added chia seeds to it. I would like if you also had something with flax and coconut oil. Also bars would be great too

  4. Has anyone added protein or whey powder to this. Looking for something with protein for when my daughter has 4 hours if dance and only break is to switch rooms at the studio. Also have to switch out peanut butter with sun butter
