Join the discussionMy mom says she grew up eating pineapple on her grilled cheese sandwiches in Germany… we mostly eat them with old cheddar and basil, but today I think I might give these a try! very interesting combo I’m sure will be addictive.
Delicious!!
WOW – I cannot make these fast enough. My kids love them! I used 4 loaves for my first batch. Not enough for my clan. They were gone too quick. I am making another 6 loaves worth today.
I saw this recipe a while back but didn’t have any cream cheese. I finally have some cream cheese and the time to make these these for breakfast this morning using raspberries(I didn’t have any blueberries). I loved them! 2/3 children loved them too. This is definitely a repeat recipe!I saw that to eat after freezing to use the Microwave but I’m thinking that the toaster oven would be a better choice. Has anyone tried them from frozen??
The toaster oven would be great from frozen too!
Made this for breakfast today, had an extra and my son loved it so much he wanted it for lunch at school.
Hi Lynette, glad to hear your son enjoyed it! My kids want them every day. 🙂
This looks so good!!! I think I might try it in my Panini griller!
Do U use any kind of bread?
This recipe specifically calls for white sandwich bread but I’m sure you could use a different kind if you like.
I must try this since my family hates eggs.
I tried strawberry. It was great but didn’t freeze well. Only good day of.
This has become our family Christmas breakfast/brunch. I also made them for breakfast on the day of my daughter’s wedding. I do use ciabatta bread instead of white, and reheat in the oven. They are perfect (especially since I get & freeze the lovely Maine blueberries every year!)
Thanks for sharing Melissa! We love that this has become a favorite recipe for your family’s Christmas breakfast/brunch!
Cream cheese freezes well?
Dairy products do have a hard time freezing -however, please know we have tested this recipe & it freezes very well for a quality freezer breakfast!
