I've never had a "real" patty melt. But I love everything about them (except the meat!)…yummy cheese and maters. And then to turn it into a wrap by replacing the bun with a crispy grilled tortilla? Perfection!

Join the discussionHi!! This looks yummy!! Questions! Is the picture using the meat substitute?? I’m hoping to try this out, and hoping to fool my family so they don’t suspect anything LOL!! Did you use the rice cooker method as mentioned in the meat sub recipe? I’m wondering if I can cook both the rice and lentils together in the rice cooker?
Yep, the picture is using meat substitute. You can buy mock beef crumbles if you’re not comfy making your own.
This looks awesome! I’m always on the look out on different ways to use the meat sub – it’s delicious!
This is delicious. When I need some yummy comfort food, I make this and roasted potatoes. Adding pickles is an awesome addition!
So glad you enjoyed this recipe! Thank you for letting us know! 🙂
