Tweet-Up Week: Part 4 – Food

Well, what would a Once A Month Mom Tweet-Up be without food? Duh! Of course there is going to be food. Food demonstrations, food to eat, food to play with, food to process. . .food, food, food. And I was fortunate to get a great mix of sponsors to provide us with samples and food items to have at the event and to give away. Here is what we will be highlighting this week:

Not registered yet, then make sure you visit HERE! So let the eating begin! (Product sponsors not listed in any particular order):

The Mushroom Channel

The Mushroom Channel has made a generous donation to sponsorship of the event. September’s menu included 5 lbs of mushrooms and October’s menu contains 16 oz. In addition, we will be having mushrooms on hand at the event for participants to test out (and eat if they would like) in the food processors.

Elk Creek Vineyards

Participants at the event will have an opportunity to try out Elk Creek Vineyards’ Halloween wines. These wines are currently available online, (they are currently unable to ship to the following states: AL, AK, AR, DE, IL, IA, KS, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, NJ, NM, NY, OK, PA, RI, SD, TN, UT and WI), in Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana Krogers as well as select wine stores, and at Halloween Express stores throughout the tri-state area. Stay tuned to the tweet-up for more information. Be sure to check out their Facebook page as well.

La Bonita Ole Tortillas

As you will note, there are Veggie Tortilla Pinwheels on this month’s menu. We will demonstrating this product and will be using La Bonita Ole Tortillas to make this product. They have a variety of flavors to choose from and their website contains lots of great recipes you might be interested in trying.

DOLE

We have fabulous blenders to try out, we surely need something to make in them, right? Well, DOLE has come through and is providing us with plenty of their frozen fruit for us to make great fruit smoothies at the event. We will be making Pineberry and Fruity Island Smoothies. Stay tuned to the website in the days following the event as we hear from participants on what they thought.

Progresso

We use a LOT of broth and breadcrumbs on a regular basis on our Once A Month Mom menus. Progresso has kindly provided us with both products for this event. We will be using the breadcrumbs in one of the live cooking demonstrations.

Bisquick

Periodically we have recipes that call for Bisquick in our baking or cooking. This is a great product to have on hand during the holidays as well.

Azteca Meal Essentials

Azteca Meal Essentials are currently available in your grocer’s dairy case in select test markets including Grand Rapids, Cincinnati and Indianapolis. Featuring fully cooked and flavorful meats; classic sauces; vibrant, fresh salsas; authentic beans and rice; shredded natural cheese; and a variety of tortillas, Azteca Meal Essentials provide everything you need to create the authentic Mexican dishes you crave with the convenient heat-and-serve preparation busy households require. Azteca has generously offered a gift basket to be given away at the event.

Hormel

Hormel has generously provided us with Real Bacon Bits and Pepperoni Mini Snac Pacs for the event. We will be utilizing the Real Bacon Bits in a cooking demonstration during the event as well. We will also be giving away some of these products to you online participants.

Velveeta

With the holidays just around the corner, I am sure most of us will be utilizing Velveeta cheese in our cooking days (at least those of us that don’t have dairy allergies). Velveeta also has new kitchenista’s who provide great new recipes each day. So if you are looking for some great new recipes to try out, check out their site. You will notice that some of the new kitchenista’s are in fact bloggers you may already be familiar.

Kroger

Has provided recyclable grocery bags for our swag bags and party platters for our event.
