When we decided to bring back Better than the Freezer Aisle, I knew I had to try my hand at Copycat Chicken Cordon Bleu. I’ve never had it before but the combination of chicken, ham and cheese is a winner in my book every time.
I popped out to buy the freezer aisle version and actually cooked it up the same day. Dinner became a taste test and challenge to see which my family preferred. Because the freezer aisle version had more breading and less chicken, I thought it might win. I mean, we love fried food in my house. However, the taste was bland and the lack of chicken was disappointing. I am proud to say that 3 out of 4 family members preferred mine and the 4th is my 2 year old who ate them both wholeheartedly (so still a win!).
Once again, my recipe came out to be 75% cheaper than the freezer aisle version. One box only yielded 2 chicken breasts (for an outrageous $8) and while it said it was 2 servings, the amount of chicken was truly more like one serving. Hope you enjoy this one!
