Join the discussionHave you ever tried cooking in the IP with masa flour (finely ground corn flour) added? It’s my favorite way to thicken chili these days. Doesn’t clump and is more hearty than a flour or starch thickener. I wonder if it’s something that could be frozen and cooked in.
That is a great idea, Lisa! There are lots of IP recipes with masa flour in them out there, so we’re sure this could be applied. If you give it a try- we’d love to hear how it went!
Thanks for the great idea! I wanted to make this recipe, but I don’t eat wheat flour.
Can you make this with cornstarch instead of flour and butter?
Great idea, Sarah! You very likely could! However, this recipe was not tested with this ingredient so the end result could vary. Let us know how it works for you!
I made this and everyone LOVED it. SOOOO GOOD! I used what I had on hand, chickpeas! Family liked it!
