  1. Has anyone else ever made this? Is half a teaspoon of cayenne pepper even remotely right? All similar recipes use on 1/8th.

    1. All of our recipes have been tested by our test cooks, so you can ensure the written instructions are correct. However, if you like less spice you can certainly halve the amount called for in the recipe.

  2. The link is no longer active to the original recipe and I’m struggling to see how these very wet “patties” could possibly stand the frying process. Please help! Made as directed with disastrous results. My instinct said it is too much onion to chickpeas. I actually used two full cans of chickpeas and cut the onion back a bit and they still “dissolved” in the frying pan. Thanks!

    1. Hi Jen! We agree with you – that something is off! Our hands are a bit tied with the original recipe no longer accessible. We made some changes- using a can of chickpeas instead of a cup, decreased the onion and then are having the cakes chilled before frying. Let us know if this helps!
