Better Than The Freezer Aisle: Copycat Jimmy Dean Sausage Breakfast Bowl
I’ll be honest- I’ve never been a huge scrambled eggs person. However, it turns out once you mix them with some sausage and cheese, I’m all kinds of excited. If I told you this was absolutely amazing, it would be an understatement. Of course, my husband took it to the next level and sauteed up some onions to top it. You won’t find onions in this recipe as it’s a copycat and the original didn’t have onions. Now, to be completely upfront, this won’t look as pretty once it’s been frozen as the Jimmy Dean version even though it will still taste great. It will all mix together whereas the other version has each ingredient separately frozen (read more about commercial processing here). Not only did this homemade recipe taste better than the frozen aisle version, I got 4 servings for $4.25 compared to the grocery store price of $10 for 4 servings. I would say that’s a no brainer!
