Join the discussionThis blows my mind. This new Sheet Pan menu is totally my style. I love it and thank you!
I agree right up my ally.
We made the Beef Teriyaki according to recipe and had to throw it out. SO salty:-(
I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy the Beef Teriyaki! We always test our recipes with test cooks before posting, but certainly different folks have different tastes! We appreciate the feedback and hope you enjoy some of the other recipes in this mini menu!
I do not like salty food, so what I do with each recipe that I tried is do the salt to my taste not the required salt in the ingredients.
Because I have picky eaters, I always do pepper, salt, and other herbs to my taste.
Also worth mentioning is that I’ve found over the years that when scaling up a recipe, don’t scale up the seasonings in the same proportions. You only need to add about half as much seasoning for doubling a meal. Unfortunately, when doubling, the computed calculation will double everything rather than treating seasonings appropriately (or at least I assume this is what happens), so I generally just go with my gut – if it looks like too much salt (or in this case, since teriyaki is already salty by nature), I would instinctively put less in. You can always just do a fraction of salt in any recipe as you can generally add that later to taste. If there’s no salt in the recipe to begin with and you find it too salty, look for a low sodium sauce (or teriyaki in this case). Good luck!!
