Make It Now Cooking Directions

These directions are for cooking this recipe to serve immediately and NOT to freeze for later.

Freeze For Later Cooking Directions

These directions help you cook or prepare this meal PRIOR to being frozen for serving later (see Serving Day Directions when you are ready to prepare it to eat).

Why would I want to freeze this?

  1. Combine refried beans, cumin and chili powder together.
  2. In a skillet heated on high heat, place one tortilla and cook for a couple of seconds, then turn over and heat other side so that tortilla is pliable.
  3. Remove tortilla from heat and spread a thin layer of refried beans, sour cream, guacamole and sprinkle with cheese.
  4. Tightly roll up tortilla and set aside.
  5. Repeat until all tortillas are filled.
  6. Heat canola oil in a skillet.
  7. When hot, add taquito, seam side down and cook for 15-30 seconds, or until golden brown. Flip and allow each side to brown.
  8. Repeat until all taquitos have been cooked.
  9. Allow to drain on paper towel and cool.
  10. Divide among indicated number of freezer bags. Label and freeze.
