Freeze For Later Cooking Directions
These directions help you cook or prepare this meal PRIOR to being frozen for serving later (see Serving Day Directions when you are ready to prepare it to eat).
Why would I want to freeze this?
- In a large bowl, toss together apples, lemon juice, brown sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and salt.
- Divide apple mixture among indicated number of greased baking pans.
- In a sauce pan, melt butter and honey oven medium heat.
- In a large bowl combine butter/honey mixture with flour, oats, almonds, and coconut until mixture clumps together.
- Divide and sprinkle evenly over apple mixture in the baking pans.
- Bake 45-50 minutes until apples are tender and bubbly and granola topping is crisp. If topping is cooking too fast, you can cover with foil, then remove to crisp for the last few minutes of baking.
- Let cool.
- Cover tightly with foil, label, and freeze.
