Join the discussionYou use 2 large eggs & 2 large egg whites? Or 2 large eggs OR 2 large egg whites?
The recipe calls for both 2 whole eggs and 2 egg whites. I hope you enjoy – it’s delicious!
Thank you! I normally use 1 egg per pound of meat so that seemed like a lot. Just wanted to make sure 🙂
Can these be frozen in aluminum loaf pans? Thanks!
Yes they certainly could!
Since I tried this a few weeks ago, my husband and son have requested it every week. Never without one in our freezer. Thanks for sharing this and the many great recipes on your site.
You are so welcome Jeri! So glad your family loved this recipe!
Can I not use eggs? My sons are anaflaytic
Here is a great post about egg substitutes! Any of these should work fine in this recipe https://onceamonthmeals.com/goi…
If I divide this into 2 smaller loaves do I need to reduce the cooking time?
Yes – if I was making in smaller loaves, I would reduce the cooking time.
Can you make this in a crockpot?
Yes! I would do 4-6 hours. Top with the glaze and cook an additional hour.Let us know what you think!
Thanks! I will! Planning on this for dinner tomorrow!
4-6 hrs on high in a crockpot?
Hi Lori, We don’t have a Slow Cooker adaption for this recipe. You may try this recipe for some advice on cook times.
What do the numbers (#1 or #2) signify.
Barbara, if you read this recipes cooking directions, you’ll see that you’ll need those ingredients at 2 different points for 2 different parts of the recipe: 1) to mix in with the ground beef, 2) to then to make the sauce. Does that make sense? We are always here and happy to help!
Do you thaw before baking? Thanks!
Yes Mia, you do! Do you have any other questions? We are always here and happy to help!
My family loves this, and it smelled so good when my husband was eating leftovers that several people asked for the recipe. In fact, when I made this for 8 people my family of 5 finished the whole thing in one meal!!!
