Make It Now Cooking Directions

These directions are for cooking this recipe to serve immediately and NOT to freeze for later.

  1. Cut the bread in half lengthwise.
  2. In a large bowl mix all ingredients other than cheese and bread.
  3. Lay bread on foil.
  4. Divide the meat mixture on top of bread and spread.
  5. Wrap and pull together the foil so that the bread is wrapped in foil, but not the meat portion. It should be open on top.
  6. Place on a cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
  7. Garnish with cheese and return to oven for 5 minutes longer.
  8. Allow to cool a few minutes, slice, and serve.

Freeze For Later Cooking Directions

These directions help you cook or prepare this meal PRIOR to being frozen for serving later (see Serving Day Directions when you are ready to prepare it to eat).

Why would I want to freeze this?

  1. Cut the bread in half lengthwise.
  2. In a large bowl mix all ingredients other than cheese and bread.
  3. Lay bread on foil.
  4. Cover the bread with a layer of plastic wrap.
  5. Divide the meat mixture on top of bread and spread.
  6. Add the cheese on top.
  7. Wrap the plastic wrap up and around meat mixture.
  8. Now lay out another layer of plastic wrap and lay the bread and meat mixture on top of that.
  9. Wrap that sheet up and around the bread and wrapped meat mixture.
  10. Now wrap all of that in foil, label and freeze.
