Join the discussionYou can really freeze these already baked and reheat in the microwave? What toppings would reheat well? I bet pineapple or green peppers might not work well? But maybe they do. May have to try this, but not sure.
Hi Skirnir, yes, they reheat in the microwave great from frozen. I did mine with both pepperoni and canadian bacon and they were wonderful. Green bell pepper is one of the easiest things to freeze and pineapple should freeze well too. Give it a try and let me know what you think.
Reheated in the microwave and they were a bit soggy. Found that toasting the muffins before topping and going a tad bit lighter on the sauce helped the second time we made these. As for reheating in the oven we increased the temp since our oven tends to run a bit lower. Still had to increase more until the internal thermometer we have in the oven said 350 and bake longer to heat completely through.
Note – if you forget to thaw the Canadian Bacon, regular bacon works just as well. 🙂 Yummy!
Sounds like a voice of experience there! These are a BIG hit at my house, no matter the topping. 🙂 Glad you enjoyed.
