Make It Now Cooking Directions

These directions are for cooking this recipe to serve immediately and NOT to freeze for later.

Freeze For Later Cooking Directions

These directions help you cook or prepare this meal PRIOR to being frozen for serving later (see Serving Day Directions when you are ready to prepare it to eat).

Why would I want to freeze this?

  1. Place half of almonds, pecans, and oats into a food processor. Pulse 15-30 seconds or until finely ground. Pour into a bowl.
  2. Roughly chop remaining nuts and dried fruit if needed.
  3. Add to the bowl along with remaining oats and sesame seeds. Stir to combine.
  4. In a sauce pan over medium heat, combine honey, coconut oil, salt, extracts, and cinnamon.
  5. Stir until mixture melts, then foams. Cook for about 15 seconds longer and remove from heat
  6. Pour over oat/nut mixture and stir to combine thoroughly.
  7. Line one 8x8 pan per 8 servings with parchment paper so it hangs over the edges. Divide mixture among pans evenly and flatten firmly with greased hands.
  8. Cover with extra parchment paper and refrigerate 4 hours or until firm.
  9. With a sharp knife, cut evenly into bars.
  10. Individually wrap in plastic wrap, then place into freezer bags. Label and freeze.
