  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and brown sugar.
  2. Add apples, salt and pumpkin pie spice.
  3. Cook for 3-4 minutes or until apples are slightly cooked.

  5. Add apple juice, water and vanilla. Bring to a boil.
  6. Reduce heat and simmer for 8-10 minutes or until oatmeal has thickened and apples are tender.
