Make It Now Cooking Directions

These directions are for cooking this recipe to serve immediately and NOT to freeze for later.

  1. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, onion, barbeque sauce, Worcestershire and shredded cheese.
  2. Divide mixture into even sized balls (equal to the number of servings indicated) and form into patties. Using your finger or the back of a spoon, make a slight well in the center of each patty to ensure uniformity of cooking.
  3. Grill burgers over medium high heat for about 5 minutes per side, or until desired doneness.
  4. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, stir together green chiles and enchilada sauce.
  5. Microwave about 60 seconds to warm the mixture.
  6. When burgers are done cooking, top with the warmed sauce and enjoy!

Freeze For Later Cooking Directions

These directions help you cook or prepare this meal PRIOR to being frozen for serving later (see Serving Day Directions when you are ready to prepare it to eat).

Why would I want to freeze this?

  1. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, onion, barbecue sauce, Worcestershire and shredded cheese.
  2. Divide mixture into 4 even sized balls and form into patties. Using your finger or the back of a spoon, make a slight well in the center of each patty to ensure uniformity of cooking.
  3. Place burgers on parchment paper lined baking sheet and flash freeze.
  4. Meanwhile, divide green enchilada sauce and green chiles among indicated quart freezer bags.
  5. When burgers are frozen, transfer to gallon freezer bags, placing bag of quart sauce mixture in with burgers.
