WARNING: May want to avoid this post if you are currently hungry! Several months ago I had an inquiry on the Facebook group about if we had a recipe for homemade pop tarts. At the time I did not. So I came up with a recipe of my own using pre-made pie crusts. Come see how they turned out!
Ingredients
- 2 individual Refrigerated Pie Crust
- 1 cup Strawberry Jelly
Containers

Freeze For Later Cooking Day Directions
These directions help you cook or prepare this meal PRIOR to being frozen for serving later (see Serving Day Directions when you are ready to prepare it to eat).
Why would I want to freeze this?
- Unroll the pie crusts, then using a pizza cutter trim the edges so that you are left with a square/rectangle.

Make It Now Cooking Directions
These directions are for cooking this recipe to serve immediately and NOT to freeze for later.
- Unroll the pie crusts, then using a pizza cutter trim the edges so that you are left with a square/rectangle.
- Using the pizza cutter, divide each square/rectangle into individual squares.
- Place and spread 1-2 Tablespoons of jam/jelly on each square in the middle.
- Fold over the dough and seal edges with a fork.
- With extra cut off dough, roll out and make any additional squares that will fit.
- Once poptarts are sealed, place on a baking sheet.
- Bake at 450 degrees for 10-12 minutes.

Join the discussionWhat do you use as the icing on this?
For the picture, we used a mixture of powdered sugar and milk. But no icing is necessary unless you want it.
Curious. Can be toasted the day of instead of microwaved?
Absolutely!
