Make It Now Cooking Directions

These directions are for cooking this recipe to serve immediately and NOT to freeze for later.

  1. **Due to the nature of pressure cooking there is always room for inconsistency. The times given here are based on 4 servings fresh. If you are using more servings you may need to increase your cooking time.**
  2. In a bowl, combine all the ingredients except the bacon.
  3. Shape the meat into a loaf that will fit into the Instant Pot with 1/2 inch margin on each side.
  4. Lay the bacon over the top of the meatloaf.
  5. Pour 1 cup of water into the Instant Pot and place trivet into the bottom.
  6. Place the meatloaf on top of a large piece of foil. This will support the meatloaf in the Instant Pot and also act as handles for removal.
  7. Lock lid into place and seal steam nozzle.
  8. Cook on high pressure for 20 minutes.
  9. Quick release the pressure.
  10. Ensure the meatloaf has reached 155 degrees. If not, replace the lid and add an additional 5 minutes of cooking time.

  1. I think the cooking time needs to be reevaluated. We’ve made this a couple of times and both required much longer than the specified 20 minutes.
