Join the discussionI haven’t been able to find a canned onion soup that is dairy free. Most of the ones I’ve found contain butter or even whey. What brand do you use that is dairy free? I’ve been wanting to make this – do you think extra onions with beef broth would be an okay sub? Thanks.
I think your sub idea would work well. Maybe caramelize them first to really bring out the flavor–but yes I think that should work. We’d love to hear how it turns out!
Is this supposed to be condensed French onion soup? I used a regular French onion soup, and the result was, well, soupy!
I apologize for the confusion. Yes, this should be the condensed version of the French Onion Soup. We hope you’ll try it again and let us know how it turns out for you!
