The ingredients says “2 ½ cups cook Ground Beef” ….. does that mean “cooked” Ground Beef and it is supposed to be cooked before you put it in the Instant Pot?
Yes, it means cooked ground beef. You can cook the ground beef in the instant pot prior to cooking this recipe if you like, but if you cook it with the other ingredients, it will be too watery.
Just tried this last night. We did not like it at all. It was too sweet or something. Took one bite and that was all we could handle. I have another container left in the freezer that I don’t know what to do with now.
We’re sorry to hear you didn’t like this one, Beth! It may have been the pumpkin pie spice, which we know isn’t for everyone. This might be a good gifted meal to a pumpkin-pie loving friend.
That sounds like a good idea. Thanks.
Yesterday was my first day trying the program for 3 days. The Pumpkin Sloppy Joes was first. I cut up all the prep items. That was relatively easy. I combined all ingredients for this recipe and within 5 minutes I got a Burned Food Warning. How do I prevent the Burn Warning? I rescued the Joes and served them on Kings Hawaiian buns. They were good. I am going to reduce garlic a little next time.
Hi Sharee! The latest technology in the Instant Pots seems to be giving the burn notice quite often. We have one staff member who swears by using a trivet everytime she uses the Instant Pot. That might work – another option is to add a little bit of water before adding any ingredients.
