Oven Country Steak

<p>This recipe for a simple round steak is amazingly flavorful and tender. It is just mild enough to be kid friendly though! It was a family favorite of mine growing up as well.</p>

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds Beef Round Steak
  • 1/2 cups Flour, All-Purpose
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoons Black Pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cups Ketchup
  • 6 medium Garlic, Cloves
  • 1/2 cups dice Onion
  • 1/2 cups dice Celery
  • 2 cups Beef Bone Broth/Stock

These directions are for cooking this recipe to serve immediately and NOT to freeze for later.

  1. Cut steak into equal portions according to indicated number of servings.
  2. Pat flour into steak on both sides.
  3. Heat a skillet with the vegetable oil and brown steak on both sides.
  4. Place cooked steaks into indicated number of baking pans.
  5. Put all of the remaining ingredients over the steak.
  6. Cover and bake in oven at 350 degrees for 2 or more hours, until tender.
  7. If steak begins to dry out when cooking add beef broth or water.
