Join the discussionThe recipe says to baste with remaining sauce (what remaining sauce)?
If you have any remaining sauce from when you had mixed the wings with it in the bowl.
Where do you find ghee? I’m not familiar with it
I have found ghee at my local aldi’s … hope that helps you!
Is that a paleo thing? If I don’t do paleo can I use butter?
Kari – yes – you can substitue butter for the Ghee.
could i cook a bunch and freeze some so they are quick microwave ready for my husband
Yes, you definitely could do that too. Just follow the baking instructions for the serving day. Let them cool. Package and freeze.
is this a gluten free meal?
Sarah – Great question – yes – these are Gluten Free.
Can you use boneless breasts.
Adrianne – If you use boneless breasts I would suggest to cut them into strips, to lessen the cooking time. Let us know how they turn out!
I’m having trouble finding ghee – do you think olive or coconut oil could be used as a replacement?
Hi Cindy, you could use coconut oil but if you can do grassfed butter like kerrygold brand that could work too.
These were absolutely perfect! Will definitely be making again and again. Yum!
Glad to hear it, JL!
When making from frozen, should I thaw first or straight into the oven frozen? Thank you!
You’ll want to thaw in the fridge first. Then place wings on a foil lined baking sheet (or wire rack for crispy wings), skin side down, reserving sauce. Bake at 425 degrees for 20 minutes. Remove from oven, flip wings, and baste with remaining sauce. Return to oven and bake for an additional 20 minutes.
I have made these multiple times. I am allergic to dairy and I will tell you that coconut oil works excellent. Thank you for this recipe! ?
Wonderful! ❤️
How long can they stay frozen?
Hi Sarah! Poultry, uncooked (like this recipe) can last up to 12 months.
We have a great article on how long freezer meals typically last, broken down by type, here: https://onceamonthmeals.com/support/how-long-do-meals-last-in-the-freezer
Are these very spicy?
Hi Kim! This recipe does have a kick to it from the Cayenne Pepper Sauce. If you aren’t a fan of spice, I’m not sure if I would recommend this recipe. Alternatively, you could try to reduce the amount of Cayenne Pepper Sauce and increase the Ghee. Hope this helps!
I cooked these in my air fryer, 16-20 minutes at 425 degrees F, flipping over halfway through. Turned out great.
Thanks for the tip, Leigh Anne! We always look forward to great suggestions!!
