  • 1 cup Corn Syrup, Light
  • 3/4 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 2 cups Peanuts
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda

Make It Now Cooking Directions

These directions are for cooking this recipe to serve immediately and NOT to freeze for later.

  1. Stir sugar, syrup, salt and butter in a saucepan.
  2. Add in the peanuts, and turn burner on to Med/High.
  3. Using a candy thermometer, cook mixture until it reaches Hard Crack temperature, stirring constantly. You will need to be patient, as this can take up to 15 minutes.
  4. When it reaches Hard Crack temperature, stir in baking soda. Do not over stir.
  5. Pour across a greased cookie sheet. Do not spread out with spatula.
  6. Let cool.
  7. When cool, pry the big slab of brittle up and flip over on cookie sheet.
  8. Using the handle of a heavy spoon, crack the brittle into desired pieces.
  9. Store in airtight container.
