Why would I want to freeze this?

  1. Combine salt #1, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder and onion powder and rub on chicken drumsticks.
  2. Place drumsticks into slow cooker.
  3. Cook on high for 2 hours or on low for 4 hours.
  4. Combine apple juice, tomato sauce, salt #2, apple cider vinegar, maple syrup and chili powder until well-combined.
  5. Bring the barbecue sauce to boil.
  6. Reduce heat and simmer 15-20 minutes.
  7. Brush chicken with bbq sauce and broil or grill until crispy, about 3-5 minutes per side.
  8. Let cool.
  9. Divide chicken among indicated number of bags. Seal, label and freeze all bags.
