  1. This is one of my favorite summer recipes because I can pick fresh green beans and potatoes to use, it’s simple, and I don’t have to turn the oven on!! The ingredients are also relatively inexpensive too!!

  2. I love this recipe. I made it first last month when posted then three times since!! Love the fact that fresh green beans are abundantly available at our local farm market. Easy and yummy. Thanks!!

  3. This dish did not work so well for me. The whole dish comes out with a funky after taste. I’m not sure if it is the potatoes or what, as some of them discolored a little because I guess I didn’t have enough water. I was wondering if anyone else had that experience? Oh well, I think I will just skip on trying to freeze potatoes like this.

    1. We had the same problem. I suspect it might be that we are using a really big oval crockpot, because we had the same problem with our pot roast. In theory both recipes should have been awesome, but weren’t so much in reality. I’m willing to give them another shot if we ever get a smaller slow cooker, where the liquid will cover all the veggies.

  4. My Mom always made this for dinner in the summer. We had the ham( she used country ham ) in the freezer from we processed a pig in the fall and the beans, potatoes and corn came from the garden ( she always added corn ).Thanks for the memory

  5. As karen says add corn. That is the way I learned for my mother always added corn. I prefer fresh cut right off the cob but this time of year it is not available so I am going to use a can of whole corn and add it about half way through the cooking.

  6. to freeze it says to divide among freezer bags but it only says to have one freezer bag, how many meals does this make ? my guess is 4.

    1. Hi Sandi. I apologize for the confusion. All of the recipes in our system are automatically doubled, so you will need 2 freezer bags for this one. If you change the serving size you may need more freezer bags. Thank you for pointing it out!
