  • 1 ½ pounds Chicken, Thighs, Boneless/Skinless
  • ⅛ teaspoons Salt
  • ⅛ teaspoons Black Pepper
  • ½ cups dice Onion
  • 1 cup Honey
  • ½ cups Soy Sauce
  • ¼ cups Ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil
  • 2 teaspoons mince Garlic, Cloves
  • ¼ tablespoons Red Pepper Flakes

Make It Now Cooking Directions

These directions are for cooking this recipe to serve immediately and NOT to freeze for later.

  1. Put all ingredients except cornstarch and water into slow cooker and mix.
  2. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
  3. Remove chicken from slow cooker and cut into strips.
  4. In a bowl, combine cornstarch with water and add to crock pot with the chicken. Stir.
  5. Cook on high for 10 to 20 minutes.

    1. You didn’t miss anything. 🙂 It’s a “Bourbon Street” style chicken so there’s no actual bourbon in the recipe. You can add a little if it suits your tastes though. 1/4 cup or less should do the trick.

  1. This is a hit at my house! Everyone loves it even my picky eater! I added a little chicken broth because I used frozen breasts and needed it to cook on high. It worked perfect.

  2. This is delicious! My whole family loves it. I use the Make it Now directions, add 1/4 cup bourbon and omit the oil. Serve on top of rice, Yummy!

    1. Hi Sheila! If you are having trouble, you might try skipping the water and removing some of the hot liquid and stirring the cornstarch into that to help remove any lumps.
