Join the discussionDid I miss something? Where is the bourbon in the recipe?
You didn’t miss anything. ๐ It’s a “Bourbon Street” style chicken so there’s no actual bourbon in the recipe. You can add a little if it suits your tastes though. 1/4 cup or less should do the trick.
This is a hit at my house! Everyone loves it even my picky eater! I added a little chicken broth because I used frozen breasts and needed it to cook on high. It worked perfect.
This is delicious! My whole family loves it. I use the Make it Now directions, add 1/4 cup bourbon and omit the oil. Serve on top of rice, Yummy!
Don’t call it honey bourbon chicken call it bourbon street honey chicken
Thank you for the suggestion! This recipe has been on our site for many years though and we don’t have plans to rename it at this time. ๐
2T cornstarch to 1T water makes lumps.
Hi Sheila! If you are having trouble, you might try skipping the water and removing some of the hot liquid and stirring the cornstarch into that to help remove any lumps.
Always mix corn starch with cold liquid first to get rid of lumps, and then add it to whatever youโre thickening.
