Ingredients

  • 1/2 cups Butter
  • 1/4 cups Honey
  • 1/3 cups Brown Sugar
  • 2 cups Rolled Oats, Quick Cooking
  • 1 cup Crisp Rice Cereal
  • 1/2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract

  • 2 tablespoons Chocolate Chips, Mini

Freeze For Later Cooking Directions

These directions help you cook or prepare this meal PRIOR to being frozen for serving later (see Serving Day Directions when you are ready to prepare it to eat).

Why would I want to freeze this?

  1. In a small pan on the stove over medium heat, melt butter, honey, and brown sugar.
  2. Reduce heat and cook for 2 minutes.
  3. Mix together oats and cereal in a large bowl and set aside.
  4. Add in vanilla to liquid mixture and stir well.
  5. Remove from heat and pour liquid over the oat/cereal mix.
  6. Add in strawberries and stir until just combined.
  7. Pour mixture into one 8x8 pan, per 10 servings sprayed with nonstick cooking spray and press down to spread out until mixture is 3/4 inch thick. Make sure to pack tightly so the mixture sticks together well.
  8. Top with chocolate chips.
  9. Allow to cool on counter top for 2 hours and then cut into bars.
  10. Wrap bars individually in plastic wrap.
  11. Place into indicated number of freezer bags, label and freeze.
