Join the discussionOkay, just let me say I love these freezer/cook ahead meals. But…you have really spoiled me by making everything so easy. I wonder if you could add some suggestions for sides to the menus. No recipes…just suggestions. I just want someone to think about mealtime options for sides for me so that I don’t have to. I am so spoiled!
I am glad that we can spoil you so. I would suggest that you ask this same question in our community as many of our readers would love to chime in with answers for you. For me, Cauliflower Blend veggies, corn, green beans, salad, peas, carrots and broccoli are regular sides in our rotation. Quick and easy to throw in the microwave, stove or Instant Pot while dinner is cooking.
Couscous, rice, scalloped potatoes, roasted red potatoes, California blend veggies, maple roasted carrots, roasted root vegetables, asparagus, green salad, spinach salad, sautéed mushrooms, croissants, garlic bread, fritate veggies, asparagus or green bean fries, funeral potatoes, mashed potatoes and gravy, roasted veggies(broccoli and cauliflower)
Wow, Libby! You’ve got a great list going here! Thanks!
i may be missing something here, but how do you divide 5 lbs of pork roast into 3 bags?
Hi Erin, you would cut your pork roast into 3 even pieces to fit in each bag. Hope this helps!
Hello, Now what is the reason that one can not freeze
this meal after cooking. I premake meals for the week` divide in individual containers so that they can take out from freezer-reheat and eat. Thank you for these wonderful recipes Mary
Hi Mary! There is no reason at all! This is just a different version of this recipe that allows people to not have to do any cooking prior to freezing (as some may have less time on cooking day as opposed to serving day). The version of the recipe you are referring to is what we call “ready to eat” where you just reheat the meal. You can find that version here. Thanks!
