Toddler Cheese Twists

<p>These cheese twists are similar to a biscuit but are prepared in a fun way. I made up a batch of these and stored them in the freezer. Just a few seconds in the microwave and they taste almost like they are fresh from the oven.</p>

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups Flour, All-Purpose
  • 1/3 cups Flour, Whole Wheat
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 cups Butter
  • 6 tablespoons Water, Cold
  • 4 tablespoons Parmesan Cheese, Grated
  • 1 individual Egg

These directions are for cooking this recipe to serve immediately and NOT to freeze for later.

  1. In a large bowl, mix flours and salt.
  2. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Slowly add enough water to form a soft dough.
  4. Stir in Parmesan cheese.
  5. Turn dough out onto floured surface and knead lightly.
  6. Roll dough out to a 1/8 inch thickness.
  7. In a small bowl, beat egg.
  8. Cut into 1 inch wide strips, twist, and place on baking sheet.
  9. Brush strips with beaten egg and bake at 400 for 15 minutes until twists are golden brown.
