Toddler Friendly Football Turnovers - Lunch Version

<p>Most kids like things in miniature and these turnovers are the perfect size for a toddler. These football turnovers are similar to a calzone, but with a pastry crust instead of a bread crust and filled with ground beef, tomato sauce, and cheese.</p>

  • 4 fluid ounces Pasta Sauce
  • 1 individual Refrigerated Pie Crust
  • 2 tablespoons Mozzarella Cheese, Shredded

  1. In a skillet add ground beef and pasta sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  2. Allow mixture to cool.
  3. Unroll pie crust dough and cut 4-inch circles, re-rolling dough as necessary. Place circles on baking sheet.
  4. Top each circle with 1 tablespoon of filling and sprinkle with 1/2 teaspoon of cheese.
  5. Moisten the edges with water and fold in half and press edges to seal.
  6. Crimp edges with a fork.
  7. Bake turnovers at 375 degrees for 25 minutes until golden brown.
