  1. Cook pasta in salted boiling water until al dente.
  2. Add asparagus during final 2 minutes of cooking.
  3. Drain pasta mixture in a colander over a bowl, reserving cooking liquid listed.
  4. Combine reserved cooking liquid, eggs, and milk, stirring quickly with a whisk.
  5. Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.
  6. Add oil and onion to pan; sauté 2 minutes.
  7. Add pasta mixture; stir to combine.
  8. Remove from heat; stir in milk mixture, chicken, and cheese.
  9. Place pan over medium heat, and cook about five minutes or until slightly thick, stirring frequently.
  10. Remove from heat; stir in parsley, salt, pepper, and bacon.
  11. Serve immediately.

  1. Going to make this tonight! Eat one, freeze one! We love carbanara and the asparagus was nice and fresh at the store this week. Sub homemade pasta for boxed pasta and I think we’ll have a winner!

    1. Drained pasta water is more starchy which allows the sauce to thicken and stick to the pasta, which is why it specifies to use it in this recipe.
