Cherry Maple Muffins

<p>These muffins pair the sweet burst of whole cherries with a breakfast favorite: maple syrup. Not only are they a great on-the-go option, but kid friendly as well.</p>

  • 3/4 cups Yogurt, Plain
  • 3 individual beat Egg
  • 1/4 cups Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 3/4 cups Flour, All-Purpose
  • 3/4 cups Flour, Whole Wheat
  • 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoons Nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoons Salt

  1. In a large bowl, combine syrup, yogurt, eggs, sugar and vanilla.
  2. In a separate bowl, sift together flours, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt.
  3. Gently add the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until incorporated, being careful not to over mix.
  4. Gently fold in applesauce.
  5. Fold in cherries
  6. Pour batter into lined muffin cups, filling 3/4 full.
  7. Bake 350 for 20 minutes or until tops are golden brown.
