Ingredients

  • 1 ¼ pounds Ground Turkey
  • 1 cup peel and dice Apple
  • 1 tablespoon Sage, Dried
  • ⅛ teaspoons Allspice, Ground
  • ⅛ teaspoons Cayenne Pepper
  • ¼ teaspoons Thyme, Dried
  • ¼ teaspoons Black Pepper
  • 1 ½ tablespoons dice Onion, Yellow
  • 1 teaspoon mince Garlic, Cloves
  • ⅓ cups Brown Rice, Short-Grain
  • ¾ teaspoons Salt

These directions are for cooking this recipe to serve immediately and NOT to freeze for later.

  1. Combine all ingredients and mix well.
  2. Shape into 1/2 inch thick patties.
  3. Coat grill with nonstick cooking spray before grilling. Grill, covered over indirect medium heat for 6 or 7 minutes each side. If using a meat thermometer, it should read 165 degrees F.

Why would I want to freeze this?

  1. Combine all ingredients and mix well.
  2. Shape into 1/2 inch thick patties.
  3. Coat grill with nonstick cooking spray before grilling. Grill, covered over indirect medium heat for 6 or 7 minutes each side. If using a meat thermometer, it should read 165 degrees F.
  4. Allow to cool.
  5. Place burgers into freezer bag(s) separated with wax paper. Remove as much air as possible,seal, label & freeze.
